2026 Time Trial Series Wraps-Up!
The first Wednesday of the month from May through September saw LBTC athletes gathering for our annual Time Trial Series, with riders taking on the challenge of racing against the clock while enjoying one of the club’s most social and supportive events.
A total of 14 athletes took part across the five events, with nine competitors returning for multiple rounds throughout the season. The series offered the perfect opportunity to measure fitness, track progress and, for many, discover just how much they could push themselves over a short course.

Lead Performers
At the sharp end of the leaderboard, Neil Hingley claimed the title of Fastest Open rider. However, he was pushed all the way by Mark, who finished only two seconds adrift across the series.
Neil may have taken the honours this year, but with such a narrow margin, there is clearly unfinished business for next season. As they say, must try harder!
The battle for the podium was equally competitive, with James securing third place after strong performances.
In the women’s category, congratulations go to Lisa Edwards, who was our fastest female rider and delivered an outstanding series of rides throughout the summer.
A special mention must also go to Gemma, whose consistently strong performances impressed across the season.
Most Improved Award
While fastest times always attract attention, one of the most rewarding aspects of the series is seeing athletes improve over the season.
This year’s Most Improved Athlete Award goes to Gilly, who knocked an impressive 4 minutes and 20 seconds off her ride time between the opening and closing events. A fantastic achievement and a great example of how regular racing and consistent training can deliver real results.

More Than Just a Race
The Time Trials remain one of the club’s most accessible events. Whether you’re chasing podium places, trying to beat a personal best, or simply looking for a structured fitness check, the format offers something for everyone.
The only real pressure is the pressure you put on yourself.
They are a brilliant way to benchmark fitness throughout the season, challenge yourself on the evening and enjoy the camaraderie that makes our club such a welcoming place to be.
We would love to see even more members giving them a go in 2027, particularly those who have never entered before. You might surprise yourself.
Thank You
Finally, a massive thank you to Dave and the team at C2K Cycling, whose support with timing, logistics and event organisation makes the series possible year after year. Their contribution is hugely appreciated by everyone who takes part.
