Mark Sets New PB as LBTC Enjoys Strong August TT Turnout
The August Time Trial saw an excellent turnout from LBTC, with eight riders taking on the fast and technical Curborough Sprint Track.
Conditions were generally favourable, although a noticeable headwind through the chicane ensured riders still had to work hard for every second. Despite the challenge, there were some impressive performances and plenty of reasons to celebrate.
The standout ride of the evening came from Mark, who clocked a superb 20:32, the fastest LBTC time on the night. Even more impressively, the ride shaved four seconds off his previous personal best, setting a new benchmark and demonstrating the rewards of consistent effort throughout the season.
It was also great to see Gemma and Lee back on the start line for their first TT appearances of 2026. Both riders made an immediate impact, comfortably breaking the 22-minute barrier.
Meanwhile, Gilly continues to strengthen the claim for the club’s “Most Improved” title. With one round remaining, she is currently the rider everyone is chasing, although there is still plenty to play for when the series concludes at the final Time Trial on 2 September.
With strong participation, personal bests, returning riders and close battles throughout the field, the August event was another fantastic evening of club cycling and sets up an exciting finale to the season.
