About Us

Burntwood Triathlon Club was formed in the 1990s by Mark Wheeler and a group of like-minded triathletes in the Burntwood area of Staffordshire. The original Club name was ‘Wheelers Phew!’

As the Club grew its name was changed to Burntwood Triathlon Club in about 2004.

In 2023 the Club name was changed to Lichfield and Burntwood Triathlon Club to better reflect the area in which we operate.

Club membership reached a peak of over 100 members before Covid. Since then membership numbers have decreased but the Club is still active, and an enthusiastic group of members is gradually building the Club up again.

The Club achieved the British Triathlon Federation TriMark Bronze award in 2018.
